Mommy, why did I get sick???

Mommy, why do we get sick? Mommy, how do germ bugs get in my body? Mommy, how long do I have to be sick? Mommy, what makes me cough?

Morgan has come down with bronchitis this week and while I was at home with her on Thursday she asked those questions above. I couldn't help but laugh a little because as soon as I would answer one question she had another. Here is a photo of her resting on the sofa after I gave her a hot shower that morning. She's feeling a little better now and hopefully by the beginning of the week she'll be back to good health. Below are just a few more photos from this past week. I hope everyone is enoying this wonderful time of year.

Madison gave me this face when I asked her to work on her homework. Silly girl.
Morgan and Madison cooking in their kitchen as I was preparing dinner for us. Too cute.

Snowman Stew

Here is a great holiday gift idea when hosting/entertaining for the upcoming holidays. Or if you just want to share with some friends for these cold winter nights. This is also a great gift for your children to send to school for their teachers and classmates as well.

Snowman Stew

Grab a box of hot instant cocoa mix. Bag of Hershey Kisses and Peppermint Candy Canes. It depends on how many you want to make so grab as much of these ingredients as you want. In small gift bags separate out 1 packet of hot cocoa mix, 3 Hershey Kisses, and 1 peppermint candy cane. Note: You can assemble all of these ingredients in mugs to add an enhancement to the gift. Make a nice little note card with the following directions and tie it to the gift bag.

Directions for Snowman Stew: Mix cocoa with water following package directions. Add the Hershey Kisses and stir with peppermint candy cane. Enjoy.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas....

Our house is beginning to look like Christmas. Madison and Morgan were so excited to help decorate the tree. We have a few more things to do but we'll work on those every evening we get a chance. It's hard to believe Christmas is here. Just a few weeks away. Madison just recently turned 7 and Morgan is 4. Can't believe how much they've grown. They are discovering the real reason for this special season and each day we open a window or door on our Advent calendar. Read together the scripture that is on the other side and talk as a family about the Bible verse. God has truly blessed our family. Kevin and I have two wonderful little girls.
